Vincent Houser (aka Art Deco) has been the leader of one of America's premier Society orchestra for 25 years. He came to Los Angeles from Indiana were he taught college and secondary school and was concert master for numerous orchestras. Vincent toured the United States and Europe with Henry Mancini and finally moved to Los Angeles to study with the violin virtuoso Jascha Heifetz. In addition to founding Art Deco and His Society Orchestra, his credits include performances on soundtracks for movies and TV shows, and classical and chamber music concerts. He is currently Chair of the Performing Arts Department at the Buckley School in Sherman Oaks and, along with his department, won both the Bravo Award and most recently the Kennedy Creative Ticket Award for teaching excellence.


DR. JOSEPH JEWELL

ACOUSTIC GUITAR // ELECTRIC GUITAR

Joe Jewell has been playing guitar for over 40 years. He earned his B.Mus. from Syracuse University and his M.M. from Ithaca College, both in Classical Guitar Performance. Joe is only the second recipient of Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Studio/Jazz Guitar Performance at the University of Southern California, recognized as Pi Kappa Lambda’s outstanding doctoral graduate for 2003. Joe is the only guitarist to have been accepted to major at the doctoral level in both the Studio and Classical Guitar at USC.

Recognized as an accomplished orchestral guitarist, Joe performs frequently with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and has performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Syracuse Symphony Orchestra, the Santa Monica Symphony Orchestra, and the orchestra of the Music Academy of the West. Joe is also an active chamber musician. With the Los Angeles Philharmonic New Music Ensemble, he has performed on mandolin, banjo, and guitar on the American premieres of new compositions by John Adams and Unsuk Chin. He has made appearances as the 1998 and 1996 San Luis Obispo Mozart Festival, 1997 Ojai Festival, and the 2003 La Jolla Summer fest.

Joe’s studio credits include performances on soundtracks for televisions shows on CBS and SHOWTIME.

As an accompanist, Joe has performed with vocalists Andrea Marcovicci (including a recent sold-out concert at San Francisco’s Symphony Hall) and Christine Ebersole and has recorded on their most recent albums. He has also performed in concert with well-known folksinger, Glen Yarbrough and has played behind Bob Hope, Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme, and many other celebrities. He has performed in the orchestras for over a hundred musical productions. He is currently tenured Professor of Guitar Studies at Fullerton College, holding one of only a few tenured positions in Guitar in the United States.

Randy Landas is a versatile bass player splitting his time between studio work, touring, theater and other live performances. Randy has toured with such notable artists as Burt Bacharach, Boxing Gandhis, Rita Coolidge, Rickey Lee Jones and Engelbert Humperdinck to name a few. He has also played on numerous TV shows, films, jingles as well as many theatrical productions.
